How about we get out of the Winter BLAHS with some COLOR?! I have undertaken an amazing project with Pure Nail Lacquer to do one video tutorial a month using their line of fantastic polishes and today marks the first tutorial! I am SOOOO excited to do more videos, I have really given my all to it and I LOVE IT! Not only am I thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Pure, but also to finally get the push I needed to do more tutorials and videos!
Ready for some holiday polish swatches?! OMG a holiday collection post AFTER the holiday, how awesome of a blogger am I?? Nicole by OPI came out with a new Modern Family collection just for the holidays, but mine arrived later than normal and then with everything else going on, well, here it is NOW....
These have been a lot of fun, doing all this swatching, pulling out polishes I bought and never wore...I've hopefully had as much fun as you have viewing it!
So...I am totally glad Christmas is over, it was a great time but we had a rough go of it with my boyfriends son being pretty much the opposite of Santa's good list...just glad it's done, and my day of Christmas rest was so well-needed!
Are you ready for a new year?
I am! Not that this one was bad, at my age they all kind of blend together and seem a little uneventful...but 2014 has a lot in store for us! Travel, a new car, a new job! I can't wait to get it started!
Happy Christmas! Today is our big celebratory day around here. Tomorrow will be the day we sleep in real late and watch Netflix all day. Or maybe the Doctor Who special if we can get our hands on it! Today is also the day I show you some of my "other" favorites this year, starting with Indie polishes...which certainly continued to be a huge trend this year, if not THE trend of the year.
Here comes #2 of the Top Ten! These all easily could have been Number Ones, but just barely got squeaked past by a few others...don't let that fool you though, these are all exquisite polishes that you NEED in your life, trust me!
Hey guys! Here comes #3 in the Top Ten polishes lineup! I hope you've been enjoying the countdown so far! Only 2 more left after this! But then I have a bunch of honorable mentions and other things lined up for you, too. So if you thought this was it, you were soooo wrong! *Also want to note that next week (NYE) I will be taking the blog down for a few hours at some point to do some maintenance. Most won't even notice the interruption, but just letting you know!
Day #4 on the 12 Days of Polish Countdown - I might say this is one of my favorites, but I think it's safe to say that I will say that for the next few days as well! All 3 of todays polishes are ones that I haven't had very long, and NONE of them have been on the blog before!
Well here we are, rounding out the bottom 5 of the top 10 list with Number Six today! Today has a very diverse grouping of colors, I know you were thinking it was going to be a sea of blues and browns and teals - and hey you were right! More blue, more brown! HA!
Hey guys! Today I'm bringing you my Number Seven picks of the year - seems to be a bit of a brown trend. Truth be told, when I held up ALL of my top polishes (and honroable mentions) together, lots and lots of brown and blue! I guess those were my favorites of the year! Let's see what #7 brings us!
Today I've got my Number Nine polishes of the year to show you. Remember, I'm doing 3 polishes per number, one indie, one mainstream and one texture. And trust me, just because these are Number Nine on the list, hardly makes them any less special than those higher up the list!
I have something for you that I'm very excited about!!
I've been working for weeks now preparing the next couple of weeks of posts to bring you MY favorite polishes of 2013.
Jump to the post to read how this will be compiled and what you can look forward to!
Whew! Is it really Friday the 13th!? Well, we made it through another Digit-al Dozen week together! Here comes my Day 5 mani for Red, Gold and Green week (everytime I type Red, Gold and Green I want to start singing Karma Chameleon!) - our last Digit-al Dozen theme of 2013!
So tell me.... Have you gotten all of your holiday shopping done yet? I am a complete and utter do it all online gal. We have gotten all of our gift buying done except for like 2 things, pretty impressive for us, just a few years ago we were the wait til the 24th couple. I say this because, well, today I have some gift nails to show you!
We're to the halfway-ish mark on the Red, Gold and Green theme of this months Digit-al Dozen. I'm going back on what I said previously about only liking a few of my manis this week. I think I like them all minus maybe one... But todays is a nice little matte nail art design I did that you might like - let's check it out!
Welcome to my blog! It's always nice to get a warm welcome, right? Today I'm showing my Day 2 mani for The Digit-al Dozen's Red, Gold & Green week. I'm pretty stoked on this one, its a design I've tried before and miserably failed at (in other words, its never hit the blog) - so I was pretty glad this one turned out above mediocre...
It's time for some holiday festiveness with The Digit-al Dozen! This months theme is Red, Gold & Green - and while I'm sure most of the ladies thought outside the box, I did a ton of more holiday themed nails. Since I'm not hugely into Christmas like some, these are probably the only holiday themed manis you will see from me for winter holidays - get em while you can!
Today I have a great grouping of Incoco Nail Appliques to share with you from their newest offering for Holiday 2013 - Merry & Bright. I toyed with my camera setup recently and I'm sad to say it was pretty unsuccesful. When I took these pictures I thought they were gonna turn out great, but instead my hands seemed weirdly posed and the lighting was wicked terrible. I was able to color correct pretty ok to get everything looking as it should, but I'm really sorry if these seem different than my normal images - I have a slew of manis that will be like this through next week, but then it's back to the tried and true! It is true what they say - if it aint broke, don't fix it!
Hey folks! I've been hard at work behind the scenes this week painting furious amounts of nails for some upcoming blog posts, so thats why it's been a bit quiet around these parts...but trust me when I say that it won't be quiet for pretty much the rest of December! Digit-al Dozen hits next week and following that, I will be doing a massive top polishes marathon of posts that will bring us right through to Christmas!
A few days late but here we go! Sorry - been a little under the weather so I'm moving slow this week! But I didn't forget about the month faves! I did not do a round up over the week because last weeks posts were just the Ab Fab Challenge, so I didn't see the point in it! But hey - let's check out what I loved last month!
Hey loves! Did all my US friends stuff up on turkey yesterday? We actually are having Thanksgiving tomorrow...but we spent the day out with my boyfriends mom and stepdad doing some shopping - it was our first foray into a black friday situation and we actually had a lot of fun...my boyfriend only cussed twice the whole night! Well...as for nails - today is the last day of the Ab Fab Challenge and it's a good one - Edina!
It's time for some fun! Today is Day 3 of the Ab Fab Challenge - which begins with the more whimsical ladies of the show - today is Bubble! Bubble is the crackpot assistant to Edina who wears the most crazy outfits that almost never seem to match. She is a total airhead and yet somehow she is a hilarious and likeable character. Her accent and voice completely crack me up whenever she is on screen.
Welcome to Day 2 of Ab Fab Week - today features Gran - aka Mother - aka June Monsoon.
Gran is Saffy's grandmother and Edina's mother.
She is also another total opposite to Edina, much more like Saffy in her demeanor, dress and overall persona.
Whenever I think of Gran, I am reminded of old lady cardigans and her always sitting at the kitchen table reading a magazine or doing some sort of puzzle in a book.
Today starts a new challenge!
It's a short little 5 day one - about the old british tv show Absolutely Fabulous.
I used to LOVE this show so much back in the day, and a few weeks ago something reminded me of it, and I thought it would make a FANTASTIC challenge!
The 5 days of prompts feature all of the outrageous characters as well as some of the more subdued - Edina, Patsy, Bubble, Saffron and Mother!
Hello lovelies! It's the end of the week/start of the week and so it is time for another weekly roundup! ALOT of polish hit the blog this week, between reviews and trying to swatch some of my untried polishes! Hopefully on non-challenge weeks I will be able to do more of this, because I have unloved polish virtually coming out of my tear ducts. So let's take a look at what happened around here in case you missed some or all of it!
Hey yooooooooooou guuuuuuuuuuuys!
It is officially THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR!!
After mooooonths of waiting for new who....the 50th Anniversary special day is finally here! So excite!
I have to find a copy lickety split since we don't get a channel its on nor are we very close to a theater its showing in this weeked, so no spoilers!! I'm hoping by next week I'll have seen it! Anyway - in honor of this momentous day, many bloggers have banded together for Doctor Who manis!
So for the last several months I have become obsessed with Elevation Polishes. Sadly, my budget doesn't allow me to buy a bunch of them, so I get some here and there and pick the ones I absolutely can't live without. Then they sit in my untrieds looking sad and lonely...but this week I broke them out of their untried prison to show you every Elevation I own...a sad little 8 of them! But they are all so divine - hope you enjoy!
Today I have a new to me Indie brand to share with you all! Recently, the super sweet Alicia Rose, founder of Leesha's Lacquer, contacted me asking if I would like to review some of her polishes. I'm not the type of person to just automatically go YES FREE GIMME, but when I took a look at what her shop offered, it was a no brainer!
Let's get this week in gear with some funk! Smashley Ashley and I are back to our Back in Time business and today I took on a flippin' water marble. I must love that girl, because almost all she had to choose from for last November were water marbles... I hate them. They are a pain in the butt, the messiest of any nail art EVER and I suck at them. It's true. So I spun it into something I could manage...
Is everyone getting into the Christmas/Holiday spirit yet? It seems like it starts earlier every year, I swear. I guess that's just old age making me feel that way though... I used to work in retail and the holidays started almost right after they ended, with ordering and planning...at least with nail blogging they don't really start til around August/September. I say these things because today I have some of the polishes from China Glaze's holiday collection - Happy Holiglaze, to share with you today. There is a much "brighter" selection here than in some of the other big brand holiday collections, let's check it!
I have a new feature today - nothing exciting! But I'm starting a weekly digest of the weeks posts, for those of you who get too busy in the week to see it ALL, maybe you can look here and see what you missed and what you want to see more of! I can't guarantee this will happen EVERY week, I can be forgetful and unorganized at best sometimes - but if you like it, I will try to keep it regular!
Hey hey ya'll! It's Friday! I've spent my short time awake today dealing with website junk. My friend Vic messaged me to tell me my site wasn't loading without the www so I went to investigate and come to find out, somehow when I transferred my services over 4 months ago, they somehow reverted back in the last few days to the older host. Pain in the butt, but 15 minutes or so with live chat got it (hopefully) all squared away and fixed. If you are having any problems reaching the site past today, please let me know! Anyway - let's enjoy Friday with our final Digit-al Dozen Black and White mani - I think you might like this one....it's one of my favorites of the week!
Something I always want to get involved in, but always seem to forget about, is the Movember Cause. Black and White week seemed like a perfect opportunity to do little mustachios, so thats what I have for you today!
Welcome to Day 3 of The Digit-al Dozen DOES Black & White Week! I had a couple of ideas for this week left over in my brain, that I REALLY wanted to do, so I decided to combine them into one manicure, and that becomes todays armor nails mixed with reverse striped nails! Let's go look!
Here it is, Day 2 of Digit-al Dozen Black and White week. This isn't exactly how I intended this mani to go...but sometimes when I have ideas for stamping in my head, they get changed when I see a different plate than the one I was after and the light bulbs start turning on. I have this awesome MoYou plate that has random borders on it, it seems weird but the minute I saw it, I had to buy it. And then it sat in waiting...when I dug through my plates looking for a floral design, I saw this plate and decided this was the direction I was meant to be going in.
