The Gnarly Number Ones for March

I started this feature last month courtesy of some theft on my part from Emma and Kirsten.
I have tweeked it more to my style and thus I bring you:

March 2013

Number One Tried Polish - OPI What Wizardry Is This?

Number One Untried Polish - Revlon Urban

Number One Indie Polish(es) - This combo of Cult Nails Living Water and Sea Lore Adella took my breath away this month!

Number One Untried Indie Polish - I won Jessica's Lynnderella giveaway last week, so it's definitely One Nutty Fruitcake!

Number One Blogging Milestone - I didn't squeee this to the blogiverse (only to my bestie Deb) but I made it into the OPI Blogger Network this month and it was a true highlight.

Number One Viewed Blog Post - My unboxing of the March Julep Maven Box

Number One Manicure - Hands down my fave this month was my Star Wars mani for Digital Dozen's Geek Week.

Number One Product - Something I will be reviewing shortly - an awesome bottle of Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer I received in my Influenster Sugar & Spice Vox Box. It's amazing and so easy to use.

Number One New Technique/Tip - Cutting up dried polish into strips/shapes and using them as decals. As I did HERE and HERE and HERE

Number One Collection - OPI Bond Girls Liquid Sands - LOVED!!!

Number One New Thing in General - My new pink and grey Nikes! I got them at the end of February, and I've worn them twice. But I DO love them!

Number One TV Show - We are in love with Bates Motel right now. And sadly, tonight is the Season Finale of The Walking Dead! =(

Number One Video Game - Like most of the world, I too am obsessed with Candy Crush Saga!

What were your Number Ones this month!?

Eight Crazy Nights, Or Just this ONE....

So - here we are at the final day of Indie Month. I've managed to get through every untried Indie in my stash, as well as re-visit a couple of favorites. I've saved what I think is the best mani for last - everything about it just came together so wonderfully. Of course, when I look back on the month I will have to choose a favorite, but as of today, it may be this one.

Polishes/Items In This Post:
Girly Bits - Eight Crazy Nights
Revlon - Smoky Canvas
Cosmetic Arts - I Blue It Up
Bronze Studs

We have a trio on our hands today, literally. Revlon Smoky Canvas, which I got for a score at Walgreens a couple weeks ago (like $1.25 score!), Cosmetic Arts I Blue It Up and Girly Bits Eight Crazy Nights.

The macro of Eight Crazy Nights is PACKED with silver, holographic and multiple shades of blue glitter in mostly hex, but also some squares and a few diamonds.

OMG I die at how much I love this polish over this awesome dirty mushroom that is Smoky Canvas. I also adore how it pairs with the blue in I Blue It Up. I tried a few color combos before I finally felt comfortable settling on this one.

Formula on Eight Crazy Nights was awesome. This is 2 light coats - and check out that groovy holo diamond there!

Here is a matte version in macro - tiny micro glitters!!

Obviously, tape mani on the ring and thumb and I also used a bronze stud from a container I bought of them from Michaels. Butter London matte top coat over these last 2 pics.

So I have 2 Girly Bits polishes and it's clear I need some more of them. They apply awesome and are made by a super nice lady named Pam. Pam's always make the best polishes I swear.

Candy Striper

Todays Indie polish is maybe more of a loosely Indie polish. I bought these from an Indie retailer, Ninja Polish, so I consider them Indies. They are really more like foreign polishes but I really needed to wear them so here they come!

Polishes In This Post:
La Femme - Unica
La Femme - Galaxia
China Glaze - I'm Not Lion

Unica, I'm Not Lion and Galaxia

Unica is a gorgeous green holographic polish, similar to A England Dragon but dirtier and way more holo. But not super holo.

Galaxia - a stunning purple jelly with holographic, purple and silver microglitter/flakie particles.

So yeah - I started with a base of I'm Not Lion then taped diagonally and painted on one coat of each of these polishes. While this won't give you a full review on its opacity and how it looks on its own, it can show you some super beautiful ideas of what you can achieve with it!

I'm so sold on both of these polishes, I cannot wait to use them solo!

You can pick these La Femme polishes up, and more, at Ninja Polish!

Julep April Maven Box - Bombshell

I know it's crazy, but yes, this is my THIRD post today!
But you Julep box came today so I knew you'd want to see it!

This Post Contains:

Polishes In This Post:
Julep Maven Box - Bombshell

Here is the box - bigger this month, got me excited there might be something extra in it. Not.

Opened up.

Opened up more!

So here we have the two polishes, Ally and Janel, the Mighty Nail & Cuticle Serum, Julep literature and a Rock Candy stick!

Mighty Nail & Cuticle Serum

Janel and Ally polishes

All 3 items together.

So - I couldn't WAIT to get the serum on my fingers. It took about 20 clicks to get the product up in the bristle area and it went on nicely. No smell. Sunk right in. It's only been a few hours so I will have to review this properly after further testing!

If you are interested in joining the Julep Maven monthly box program - you can CLICK HERE (affiliate link) and take their style quiz - then you can get your first box FREE by entering the code FREEBOX at checkout!

Pastel Bunnies!

Hey loves!
Happy almost Eastertime/Good Friday!
I have a special review today - courtesy of the fine people of BB Couture, I am showing you 5 of the new polishes in their Pastel Bunnies collection!
And at the end - a cute little Easter mani I did with them all!

Polishes In This Post:
BB Couture - Bunny Bum
BB Couture - Honey Bunny
BB Couture - Snow Bunny
BB Couture - Bunny Boo Boo
BB Couture - Cotton Tail

How cute are those names?!?!

From Left to Right:
Honey Bunny
Snow Bunny
Cotton Tai
Bunny Bum
Bunny Boo Boo

This is Bunny Bum. A pastel peach with shimmer so hidden it hardly reads on the nail,. But it does make the polish apply a lot nicer than a straight cream polish. Shown here at 3 coats, no topcoat.

Bunny Bum - 3 coats, no topcoat.

Bunny Boo Boo - a lavender pastel that covers in 2 coats. No formula issues here either, this was the easiest to apply out of the 5 I tried and just gorgeous. 2 coats - no topcoat.

Bunny Boo Boo - 2 coats, no topcoat

Honey Bunny - pastel yellow creme. This one, like almost every yellow on the planet, was streaky and troublesome til the end. Shown here at 4 coats with no topcoat.
Not to say it's bad, I love a good yellow, but it's just your typical streaky formula yellow. Still good for nail art.

Honey Bunny - 4 coats, no topcoat.

Snow Bunny - pastel pink creme - adorable! While this may not be all that unique, it has a good formula and I love the color! Shown here at 3 coats, no topcoat.

Snow Bunny - 3 coats, no topcoat.

Cotton Tail - pastel pistachio green creme. Love! This polish had a good formula, mild streaking but you know the drill..pastels. Shown here at 3 coats, no topcoat.

Cotton Tail - 3 coats, no topcoat.

Out of the bunch, I'm not sure if I could even pick one favorite. They are all gorgeous pastel shades, perfect for spring. Nothing groundbreaking, but if you don't own any pastel polishes, these would make great additions to your collection!

Now let's check out a simple little watercolor Easter mani I did using all 5 colors:

I started with 2 coats of Honey Bunny to have a nice base color, then i dropped on all 5 shades in random blobs on my nail and took a piece of saran wrap and smooshed it down on my nail, peel it up and VOILA! Instant tie dye/watercolor business!

Then I added Fingerpaints Motley flakie and a coat of Nubar White Polka Dot, followed by Butter London Matte topcoat!

You can find this collection of BB Couture polishes HERE, as well as many, many more awesome shades!
