Gnarly Numbers Ones for June

It's time.....

I won this in a Giveaway, it is the one and only Barielle I have used and I am sooo in love with it!

Favorite Untried Polish - OMG where do I start..? I have gotten so much stuff lately that my Untried bin is back up to almost maximum capacity! I did just get Layla Limoncello the other day though, and that was on my wishlist for awhile, so I'll say that one!

Favorite Indie - I had a few I really loved this month. BUT...there was ONE that just stood out above all others....Northern Star Polish: TrustNo1

Favorite Untried Indie - Again....SOOO many in my bin. I have an entire drawer of Untried Indies that I've dubbed my "FUN BOX" - but I have pulled out Polish Addict Hypnotize as the one I am most likely to use next. So let's say that!

Biggest Milestone - I've had some cool stuff happen this month! I guess I say that every month, but I feel like every month I have been continually progressing and getting better things going on and doing better things as well. I won a huge awesome giveaway from Cult Nails, as well as Fierce Makeup and Nails! I also got reposted on Instagram by the lovely Phyrra! Those were some pretty awesome things that come to the top of my head!

My Favorite Manicure - This is always my least favorite part of the roundup! How do I pick just one!? I loved so many this month! Book Week mani's were all some of my faves as well as Polish Days' Dalek mani I did. But all in all...I think my all time favorite was my Back in Time UK Mani!

Favorite Product - Hands down, I am IN LOVE with Northern Star Polish Cuticle Oil in Honeysuckle Tangerine:

Favorite New Technique or Tip - Brushstroking! I saw it on Robin Moses's YouTube and its AMAZING!

Favorite Collection - Hmmmm....I really like the new Lynnderella Talismans and Birthstones Collection:

Favorite New Thing in General - My new coffee cup? I don't even know! This month has been weird and I feel like I slept-walked through most of it! I guess I can say, its my new blog layout!

Favorite TV - most of my favorites ended this month, I turned to Netflix to fill in my free tv time. I was not dissapointed. We finally gave Breaking Bad another shot (after 2 failed attempts to get into it!) - and now we are ADDICTED! (see what I did there?)

Favorite Video Game - Megapolis! Its the same as last month. I still enjoy The Simpsons game too, but this one I like more!

There you have it - what were your favorite things this month!?

Lady Liberty

Hey hey hey!!

I thought I would drop in this other impromptu Independence Day mani before the holiday gets away from me...most times a holiday passes by and I might not even bat an eyelash at it, let alone do a mani for it.

Yet somehow..I've managed two manicures for this holiday?

WHOA-OH! We're halfway there.....

Today is a quickie, I've been trying to get caught up and ahead of manicures this past week because we have my boyfriends son all week for summer vacation and it makes our space pretty cramped which in turn makes it nearly impossible to get nails done.

So here is one I did earlier in the week that was pretty cute, let's peep it out!

This mani consists of American Apparel Office, which I picked up in Nashville a few weeks ago - totally heavenly polish!! And I topped her off with Daring Digits Livin' on a Prayer, which I got from a recent giveaway win!

This is 2 coats of Office and 2 coats of LOAP. The glitter in this is somewhat sparse with thick base, so it takes a little work to apply, and I did have a little warping of the base after I applied my top coat, but thats on me, not the polish. Sometimes you just gotta wait!

I love this glitter, it's got these super little electric blue glitters and then this wicked awesome color combo of that same blue, black and chartreuse. Love it!

You can find Daring Digits HERE, though I didn't see this one so I don't know the story on its availability as of now.

Reverse Stripes Tutorial with a side of Stars!

Hey you guys!!!
I need to get out of the habit of wanting to start my posts off by apologizing and just jump right into the business. I do feel bad though when I miss a day of posting, but sometimes the days just get away from you!

So today is a TUTORIAL! Woot!
This is one many people asked about me doing when I posted it, its pretty basic so it's not too picture heavy and I think it is definitely in the "easy nail art" category!

Little Bow Bleep

I've just got a little quickie for you today.

I was feeling under the weather yesterday, felt better last night, then today the rain hit and left me with a pretty gnarly headache.

So this is actually a post I wanted to add a second part to, but I will have to save that for another time and just show you part 1 today.

KKCenterHK - 3D Acrylic Bow Mold
Norther Star Polish - TrustNo1

So for todays post I am showing you a mold KKCenterHK sent me to review.
Don't let this fool you, if you have ANY experience with using acrylic powder and liquid you can do this.

Here is how the mold arrives, in a sealed package. It is available on the site, HERE, and retails for $4.75US - which is a great price for a lifetime supply of bows in any color you want!

Here are the supplies used for this, please note I have NO IDEA what these acrylic products are! When I first got into nails, my friend Rachelle gave me a bunch of random stuff she had left over from cosmetology school, so thats what these are. Acrylic powder (clear), acrylic liquid, powdered eyeshadow pigment and the mold. Essentially I mixed half acrylic powder and half green shadow pigment in a seperate container and then I dipped a brush in the acrylic liquid and then into the powder to get a nice sized ball. Pushed it into the mold and made sure to clean up the edges. I let it dry for about a minute or two, just until I could flex the mold and the acrylic didn't flex with it. You pop that out with some tweezers...let me tell you, the reason you dont want this to dry too much is so it's still pliable. If you want it to sit up off of your nail, no problem, but if you want it to bend with the shape of your nail, you need it to still be somewhat bendy. Wait too long and it snaps when you bend it. It's a learning curve that I got right the first time and wrong the second time!

And this is the bow attached to the nail. After I took it out of the mold I grabbed a sanding block and QUICKLY removed any little residual jagged edges and topcoated my nail than I bent it a little between my fingers and pressed it on my nail, holding it for about a minute until it was firmly stuck down all around.

It's a super simple process and I do plan to come back with more of a tutorial on how I did this and show a few different colors. In the meantime if this interests you, make sure and use the code below for a discount! the base polish for this is Norther Star - TrustNo1, which I reviewed HERE.

The Battle of the Mattes!

I have something fun today!

Not super cool nail art fun - but educational fun!

If you know me decently enough, you probably know I have an affinity for Matte Top today I decided to show you a comparison of all of the ones I currently own!

Butter London - Matte Finish Top Coat
American Apparel - Matte Top Coat
Hard Candy - Matte-ly In Love
Cult Nails - Wax That Top Coat
NYC - Matte Me Crazy

MASH Nails - Matte

Let's get this Matte Top Coat Comparison underway!

To conclude...
If you want a flat, matte finish, your money is on:
Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love (Discontinued)

And if you want a more satin, semi-matte finish:

I found all of the flat top coats to be pretty much identical, and surprisingly enough, I found the same to be true of the more semi-matte formulas to also be near dupes of each other. At least all close enough that you dont need all 6 of these. But I do!

Put on your best Sunday Bling!

So guys....hi and stuffs!
Hope you are all fully enjoying your weekend and not thinking about Monday already...
I'm thinking about how glad I am I don't have to do a damn thing tomorrow. may or may not have noticed but I went crazyville last night and re-did my blog header up there^^ - a couple of times actually, but now I like it. I also decided to redo my watermarks, so that's some new stuff round these parts. I'm always trying to tweak the blog to be a bit more "me" and it feels more me now and less...sophisticated.

So today I've got some bling, courtesy of KKCenterHK. Let's see what it is!

KKCenterHk - 2.5mm Circle Glitter in Gold Bronze
KKCenterHk - 2.5mm Circle Glitter in Black

Essie - Penny Talk
Sinful Colors - Black on Black
Stamping Plates - A34 (Messy Mansion) and CH50 (Cheeky)

Here is the jar of glitters, it is huge. Lifetime supply huge.

I've also shown you here a comparison of the jar next to a standard 3 gram jar.

For this mani I have also used the same glitters in Black, that I reviewed HERE. These glitters in Gold Bronze (as well as a ton of other shades) are available HERE for $8.00 per jar.

I did alternating bases of Black and Essie's Penny Talk, a copper metallic/chrome polish.

I stamped the middle and pinky fingers with a combination of a lace plate (A34) and a floral design (Cheeky 50) - the glitter nails are matching polish bases with glitters adhered on top. On the index finger I used the black circles and also some smaller black hex glitters I had.

I'd like to add with this Gold bronze glitters that they were thinner than the black ones I previously reviewed. The black ones were about double the thickness and stuck up more off the nail than these do. If these were/are solvent resistant they would be pretty acceptable to throw in some polish. However, I did recall someone else saying recently that these metallic circles were bleeding on them after they used a topcoat. I did not have this issue with these gold glitters (nor the black, but the black seem more plastic and less, metal...)

Make sure and use my coupon code below for a 10% OFF Discount if you like these!
The glitters are available HERE.
